The Harlem Quartet’s mission is to advance diversity in classical music, engaging young and new audiences through the discovery and presentation of varied repertoire that includes works by minority composers. Since its public debut in 2006 at Carnegie Hall, the New York-based ensemble has performed throughout the United States and around the world. Their program at BYU-Idaho will include Ludwig van Beethoven’s String Quartet No. 6 in B flat major, Op. 18; Chick Corea’s The Adventures of Hippocrates and Franz Schubert’s Quartet No. 14 in D minor (Death and the Maiden), D. 810.
