Elder Vaughn J. Featherstone
Emeritus Member, First Quorum of the Seventy

Elder Vaughn J. Featherstone was sustained as second counselor in the Presiding Bishopric of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on April 6, 1972.  He was sustained as a member of the First Quorum of the Seventy on October 1, 1976.  Elder Featherstone received Emeritus status in October 2001.

Elder Featherstone has been president of six areas of the church. He served as the Young Men general president, as president of Logan Temple, as president of the Texas San Antonio Mission, as member of the YMMIA General Board, as stake president, and as a member of the Boy Scouts of America National Executive Board.  He has received Silver Beaver, the Silver Antelope, Silver Buffalo Awards in Scouting, and also the distinguished Eagle Scout Award.

Before being called as General Authority, Elder Featherstone was a corporate training manager for a major supermarket chain based in Boise, Idaho.

Elder Featherstone was born in Stockton, Utah, to Stephen E. and Emma M. Johnson Featherstone.  He and his wife, Merlene are the parents of seven children.
