Exotic rhythms and sounds from around the world will characterize the BYU-Idhao Jazz Ensemble for New Music in their performance of the music of Rakalam Bob Moses. Rakalam Bob Moses has been called a "multi-directional shamanistic groovilator" (a particularly apt description), and his writing has been described by critics as "music that breathes, grunts, cries, sings, and laughs." Hailed by jazz writer, Nat Hentoff, as the most imaginative jazz composer since Gil Evans, this concert of Rakalam'a music promises to tak listeners on an imaginative journey beyond.
