Elder Craig C. Christensen
Presidency of the Seventy
Elder Craig C. Christensen was named a member of the Presidency of the Seventy on April 3, 2012. He was called as a General Authority on October 5, 2002. At the time of his call as a General Authority, he was serving as an Area Seventy in the Utah South Area. As a General Authority, Elder Christensen has served as president of the Mexico South Area headquartered in Mexico City and in various departments and assignments at Church headquarters, most recently as Executive Director of the Priesthood Department.
Elder Christensen graduated from Brigham Young University with a bachelor's degree in accounting. He went on to earn a master of business administration degree from the University of Washington. Over the years, he has been a visiting instructor of business and religion courses at several universities, including Brigham Young University. At the time of his call as a General Authority, Elder Christensen was a self-employed businessman in the retail automotive, insurance, and real estate development industries. He previously worked as an executive with several privately owned companies and with an international accounting and consulting firm based in San Francisco, California. He has served on several business and volunteer boards and with several charitable organizations.
Elder Christensen has served the Church in various callings, including as president of the Mexico City East Mission, in a branch presidency at the Provo Missionary Training Center, and as a bishop, high councilor, and elders quorum president. As a young man, he served as a missionary in the Chile Santiago South Mission.
Born in Salt Lake City, Utah, on March 18, 1956, Elder Christensen married Debora Jones in the Salt Lake Temple on March 28, 1978. They have four children and five grandchildren.
