The BYU-Idaho University Orchestra will present a program featuring very colorful works for strings and full orchestra. Two pieces on the program will highlight the large size of our orchestra this semester, as the string section is split into numerous parts: Bach’s well-loved Brandenburg Concerto No. 3 in G Major divides the strings into 10 distinct sections, and the Concerto Grosso by Ralph Vaughan Williams is written for no less than 3 orchestras boasting 15-20 separate voices. The concert will conclude with the University Orchestra and Band combining to perform Alexander Borodin’s Polovitsian Dances. Don’t miss this exciting and colorful concert! Tickets $3 BYU-Idaho Students/$6 General Public. Event dress.
